Description
This sculptural wedding broom has been waiting to be connected in perfect harmony for many years, until one day, a vision came to me of how the two heads wanted to be joined into one. A hand-carved Silver Maple branch with entwined Honeysuckle vine represents the foundational family tree and sets off this almost six foot long piece consisting of two sweeper heads hand plaited onto on a bifurcated hardwood handle.
Using dark and light cords to represent the opposing attractive energies that are components of all couplings, these two distant entities came together physically and energetically to be one supported and connected piece that flows together effortlessly into one visually striking unit reminiscent of a heart shape. Each head manages to maintain its own space, whilst hearts reach out supporting connection and being part of a fusion that is somehow greater than the sum of it’s parts. The dark and light seeds represent the fruits of this union.
